Thinnest Smartwatches For Slim Wrist: Buying Guide

While looking for a slim smartwatch, you will have to consider two features before you get into details. First, the weight of the watch, and second the thickness of the watch. Also, you will have to make sure that the watch has a low screen to casing size ratio, so it should have a small bezel.

The cut-off limit for thickness is 10-11mm, and the overall weight should be no greater than 80 g.

Next, you will have to make sure that it has all the necessary features. The word ‘necessary’ here is subjective. Some people are looking for health or fitness features like heart rate, sleep, or step tracking. Others need more smart features like contactless payment, voice assistant, and calling and texting feature on the watch. Prioritize what kind of features do you need.

While designing a slim smartwatch, most manufacturing companies make a trade-off in the form of durability and strength. Rugged smartwatches are not the slimmest watches around, and vice versa.

Nevertheless, the smartwatch must be water-resistant for up to 5m. And it should be completely dustproof. In technical terms, it should be ATM 5 or IP68 rated.

Apart from that, the companies make another trade-off in battery size. A small battery size means a small battery life, and some people just hate to charge their gadgets overnight. To balance it out, make sure that the smartwatch supports fast charging, and if not that have several battery modes to extend the battery life.

Manufacturers also make a trade-off in the display, and instead of AMOLED screen type, they use the cheaper LCD screen in thin watches. We would personally recommend the former (AMOLED display) despite the fact that it drains battery life like hell. What is the point of buying a slim and stylish watch with a dull and lackluster display?
